Opening Arc

Darkness in Paradise
Clare is sent to the Holy City of Rabona on a stealth mission, where she impersonates a human and encounters two human male warriors - Cid and Galk. The yoma continues to eat excessively, causing Clare to suspect it may be an older, stronger yoma subset called voracious eaters; it injures her as she attempts to protect two meddlesome human soldiers. Clare subsequently recovers and, after failing to find the yoma among the priesthood, realizes that it has been living as the mummy of a holy man. She confronts it with Sid and Galk's help, struggling until Raki returns her sword. Ultimately, she defeats the yoma, but nearly turns into a yoma in the process - an event which will have significant consequences later.

Scene 14 - The girl follows Teresa off a cliff (literally), which prompts Teresa to agree to take her to the nearest village. In the meantime, she names the girl Clare, which turns out to be her real name. But there's a bandit stalking them.

Scene 15 - Teresa is attacked by one of the bandits. After he's driven off, Clare finally speaks - expressing concern that Teresa's stigmata wounds hurt. Teresa then realizes that Clare has been trying to give, rather than receive, comfort and cries for the first time since her hybridization.

Scene 16 - Teresa buys Clare an outfit, and then tries to leave her in the town. However, the bandits return and attack both the village and Clare. Teresa swears she will kill every one of them.
