Soldiers
Clare: Obviously the protagonist. She contains the flesh and blood of Teresa, making her the only soldier known to be created through the implantation of warrior flesh. Though she begins the series ranked #47 (the weakest in the ranks), from the beginning she shows bursts of unusual power. She also grows steadily stronger as time goes on through both training and actual physical adaptations.
Volumes (Chapters): 1 (1-4); 2 (5-9), 3(10-11, 12-15 as a child), 4 (16-21 as a child), 5 (22-24 as a child, 15-17)
Irene: Quicksword Irene, originally Number 2 before her demotion to Number 3 upon Priscilla's arrival on the scene. Irene was intelligent, capable and among the best skilled warriors in the Organization. Her sword technique was unrivaled in its speed, allowing her attack dozens of times across a wide area while appearing to remain motionless. Though initially believed dead after a confrontation with awakened Priscilla, Irene had actually gone into hiding. She emerged over a decade later to assist Clare, only to be (presumably) killed by Rafaela. Her name is also romanized as Ilena or Ilene.
Volumes (Chapters): 4 (18-21), 5 (22-24)
Noel: Originally Number 4, though in such a close contest with Number 3 (Sophia) that it may as well have been a tie, she was demoted to #5 following the ascension of Priscilla. Noel was known for her extraordinary speed and agility, thus she was referred to as Stormwind Noel or Hurricane Noel. She, along with Irene, Sophia and Priscilla, were sent to execute Teresa, but were unable to do so. She was killed by the awakened Priscilla.
Volumes (Chapters): 4 (18-21), 5 (22-24)
Priscilla: See under Awakened Beings.
Sophia: Originally Number 3, though in a near tie with Noel (Number 4), Sophia was demoted to Number Four upon Priscilla's arrival. She was known for her immense strange, and for that reason was called Muscular Sophia. She, Noel, Irene and Priscilla were sent to execute Teresa, but failed. Sophia was then killed by the awakened Priscilla.
Volumes (Chapters): 4 (18-), 5 (22-24)
Teresa: The Number One ranked warrior of her generation, and reputedly among the most powerful Number Ones of all time (chapter 110). Named as being of the 77th generation, and numbered Warrior #182. Teresa was known for her faint smile, and her ability to fight many enemies without accessing her yoki even enough to change her eye color. Her unique ability, preemptive yoki sensing, allowed her to predict the moves of her opponents and counter them even if their actual speed, strength or technique surpassed her own. Additionally, her yoki power was strong enough to shock Rosemary, the Number One who had been deposed by Teresa's promotion to Number One. She is eventually killed by Priscilla, the awakening Number Two soldier.
Volumes (Chapters): 3 (12-15), 4 (16-21), 5 (22-23. 24, as a headless corpse. Appears as a vision in 26).
